SENIOR CLASS INFORMATION and DATES

TODAY: May 17 -  Cap and Gown distribution during lunch (tentative date)
May 23 - Last day for Academic work in LA
May 30 - Last LATE start
May 30 - Last day for Academic Work for Senior Students
May 31 - (Thursday) 7:45AM
Commencement Rehearsal in Main gym for graduation.
               Senior Class trip to Valleyfair following practice. 
All students going must ride the bus to and from Valleyfair.  Deadline for signing up is May 18th.  There is a $25 fee for ticket and bus.
June 1 - (Friday) Commencement 7:15p.m.  (Line -up at 6:30 p.m)
              Senior All-night party - must be signed up. (Run by the parents)

***SENIORS:  You are responsible for all books, equipment, uniforms and other items that must be turned in on time.  Any items not turned in before your last day in school will result in fines attached to your diploma.  All fines must be paid in order to receive your diploma.

Breakfast $1.20
Lunch is $2.45  
Milk is .50

Students must have at least one-half the price of a meal in their account to charge a reimbursable meal.
Students are not allowed to purchase ala carte* items when the balance is at or below zero.

2nd meals
are charged at the adult meal cost.
Purchases on a friend’s account are not allowed.
A Net Cash machine will be available to students in the cafeteria during school hours. Cash only will be accepted by the machine and will go directly to the student’s account. Students may check their account balance by using the Net Cash machine during school hours.

Student Council:
Student government for the school. Students elected by their peers in the Spring Lake Park ISD16 Meets Mondays at 7:15 a.m. in Student Council Room

TUESDAY
World Cultures Club:
Learn about countries and cultures from around the world, and become friends with kids in our school who are exchange students from some of those countries! Meets the 1st or 2nd Tuesday of the month in room C275. Meets monthly to plan something outside of school, like hayrides, haunted house, bonfires, ice skating, movies, bowling, dance lessons, etc. Anyone can join anytime

FIRST Robotics Team – Interested in designing, building, or programming a robot to compete against other high school teams at the University of Minnesota? Come to an information night with your parent on Tuesday, October 25th at 7:00 p.m. Enter the high school through door #28. Go to room C167. Competing robots weigh up to 120 lbs.

Community Service Organization Meets every Wednesday at 2:45 in the Cafeteria Anyone can join anytime

CHAT: Chemical Health Awareness Team:
Promote chemical free fun in school and elsewhere. Meets every other Wednesday at 2:45 p.m. in the Student Services office Open to all, join anytime

Knowledge Bowl:
Like Trivial Pursuit? Want to learn lots of factoids to impress your friends? Meets Wednesdays and Fridays in room C268. Takes part in inter-school competitions, as well. Anyone can join. $50 fee (may be waived for students on free or reduced lunch)

Sophomore Senate: Fundraises for the prom; other activities. Meets Thursdays at 2:40 in room B244 Any sophomores may join. Those who complete the requirements may earn a letter. Ms. Ernst, Advisor

Can’t get enough of Anime? Like to read it? Want to create your own? Meets Thursdays at 2:45 in room C184 Anyone can join anytime

Opportunities in Emergency Health Care (OEC)
Program/Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA): Provides opportunities for students in the OEC classes to get lots of hands on experience, to build skills and serve the community. Meets Thursdays at 2:45 in room B135 for labs/meetings. Also, many event opportunities beyond these meetings. Open to all OEC students

The Mirage: Creative-arts magazine created by students here at SLPHS. If you are a writer, poet, painter, visual artist, mixed media artist, graphic artist, or simply someone who appreciates art and would like to learn more, this is the club for you. Theater: 

Musical: Meets every day from mid-February to end of April including some Saturdays and evenings; $50 activity fee (waived if free lunch; ½ price if reduced lunch); meets in the Fine Arts Center; participation is by audition; watch for audition posters around school.

Tech Crew $30 activity fee for each play (waived if free lunch; ½ price if reduced lunch); Tech Crew also works on many events apart from school theater, and there is no cost to students on Tech Crew who are not working with the plays;

The Voice:
Interested in theater, performance, script-writing, directing, dancing and/or media arts? Interested in social issues, too? You can combine these interests into one cool club! This year’s focus is Words Hurt, which will address bullying, dating violence and family violence, and the power of our words when used to hurt others. You will help to develop the theme, write the script, act and perform. Meets 3-4 days/week at 2:40 in room B250-A. Starting in Nov, will meet 4-5 days/week Students can earn a letter for full participation Open to all 9-12 graders.
